The showcase demonstrated a first-of-its-kind\nscenario where a customer can complete a call-related action without answering\nthe call, using IMS Data Channel technology and trusted caller verification\nenabled through Nokia's Network as Code platform. The call was made with the\nnew Jolla Phone. \n\nThe  demo uses an Elisa customer service scenario: Elisa calls about a fibre\n installation. The customer cannot speak but sees a trusted interactive call\n screen and selects \"Book installation time\". Elisa sees the customer  move\nto self-service, and the customer completes the task immediately - without\n having to answer the call. \n\nA new phase in the mobile call lifecycle\n\nCreated by Scailarc with support from Nokia and Elisa, the solution brings\nrich, interactive content into the native phone experience without requiring a\nseparate app. It extends the phone call from a voice connection into a trusted\nmedia channel before, during and after the call.\n\nFor  companies, this can enhance efficiency by improving reachability and\nservice  completion by displaying customers a clear reason for the call,\nverified context  and simple interactive options. For customers, it offers a\nconvenient way to  handle service tasks when speaking is not possible or\nappropriate.  \n\nTechnology foundation\n\nThe solution is based on IMS Data Channel, a 3GPP standard that enables rich\ndata interactions inside a normal phone call. Nokia's Network as Code\ncapabilities support caller identification, helping create a trusted\ninteraction between caller and customer. The standards-based solution works\nindependently of device model or mobile OS ecosystem.\n\nSecurity and trust are central to the concept. IMS Data Channel interfaces run\ninside an isolated environment in the phone's native calling app, preventing\naccess to phone data. Data is encrypted, and Scailarc verifies application\ncontent and digital fingerprints to help prevent hijacking.\n\n\"This proof of concept shows how the traditional phone call can become a\ntrusted, interactive customer service channel. Visual context, verified caller\ninformation, and simple self-service actions can help customers complete tasks\nfaster and with confidence,\" says Marko Rapeli, Co-founder & CEO, Scailarc.\n\n\"Elisa is exploring innovations that make digital services easier and safer.\nToday's Proof of Concept demonstrates the potential this service has for the\nreduction of daily life friction. We are looking forward to further developing\nthis technology for the benefit of our corporate and consumer customers,\" says\nLaura Pitkänen, Vice President, Subscriptions and Services, Corporate\nCustomers, Elisa.\n\n\"Programmable network capabilities can help developers and service providers\ncreate new real-time experiences. This showcase demonstrates how network\ncapabilities can support trusted, contextual communications directly in the\ncall experience,\" Shkumbin Hamiti, Vice President, Network Monetization\nPlatform, Nokia.\n\nThe companies see potential for trusted, interactive calling in sectors where\nidentification, timely action and customer confidence are critical, including\nhealthcare, banking, public services, logistics, public safety and legally\nrequired customer contacts.\n\nCONTACT:\n\nFurther information and interview requests:\n\nElisa's Mediadesk, mediadesk@elisa.fi, tel. +358 50 305 1605\n\nScailarc\n\nMarko Rapeli, Co-founder & CEO, marko (mailto:marko.rapeli@scailarc.com).\n(mailto:marko.rapeli@scailarc.com)rapeli\n(mailto:marko.rapeli@scailarc.com)@scailarc.com\n(mailto:marko.rapeli@scailarc.com), +358 50 323 3973 \n Olli-Pekka Nokkonen, Co-founder & COO, olli\n(mailto:olli-pekka.nokkonen@scailarc.com)-\n(mailto:olli-pekka.nokkonen@scailarc.com)pekka\n(mailto:olli-pekka.nokkonen@scailarc.com).\n(mailto:olli-pekka.nokkonen@scailarc.com)nokkonen\n(mailto:olli-pekka.nokkonen@scailarc.com)@scailarc.com\n(mailto:olli-pekka.nokkonen@scailarc.com), +358 50 444 0894\n\nNokia\n\nPress Office, press.services@nokia.com  \n\nThis information was brought to you by Cision http://news.cision.com\n\nhttps://news.cision.com/elisa-oyj/r/scailarc--elisa-and-nokia-demonstrate-world-fist-call-handled-without-answering--powered-by-ims-data,c4397644\n\nThe following files are available for download:\n\n https://news.cision. com/elisa- oyj/i/elisa- mediatilaisuus-20260918- pressikuvat-web-1,c3566455 Elisa-mediatilaisuus-20260918-pressikuvat-Web-1 \n https://news.cision. com/elisa- oyj/i/elisa- mediatilaisuus-20260918- pressikuvat-web-2,c3566456 Elisa-mediatilaisuus-20260918-pressikuvat-Web-2 \n https://news.cision. com/elisa- oyj/i/elisa- mediatilaisuus-20260918- pressikuvat-print-1,c3566457 Elisa-mediatilaisuus-20260918-pressikuvat-Print-1 \n https://news.cision. com/elisa- oyj/i/elisa- mediatilaisuus-20260918- pressikuvat-print-2,c3566458 Elisa-mediatilaisuus-20260918-pressikuvat-Print-2 \n\nView original\ncontent:https://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/scailarc-elisa-and-nokia-demonstrate-world-fist-call-handled-without-answering-powered-by-ims-data-channel-302883124.html\n\n\n\nCopyright (c) 2026 PR Newswire Association,LLC.
