Those experiences gave me an\ninsight into the tech world and gradually strengthened my interest in\nexploring it as a career.\n\nI started my career transition by enrolling in an IT Bootcamp course focused\non WordPress development. From the very beginning, I loved the experience. It\nbrought a sense of freshness and dynamism that I had been missing for a long\ntime. I also enjoyed the creative aspect and the freedom that came with\nbuilding WordPress websites - something I had not experienced in my previous\nprofession.\n\nThe GoDaddy WordPress Premium Support team was an important part of my career\ntransition. The developers who were also instructors generously shared their\nknowledge and experience with us and helped open the door to a completely new\ncareer path.\n\nGoDaddy was also the company that gave me my first opportunity in the tech\nindustry. I joined as a WordPress Advanced Support Chat Guide, where I spent\nmy first year at GoDaddy. That role opened the door to my new profession and\ngave me the opportunity to continue developing my technical skills.\n\nAfter a year, I moved into a WordPress Developer position within the WordPress\nPremium Support team. Becoming a WordPress Developer had been the goal I had\nset for myself from the very beginning, so reaching that milestone was\nespecially meaningful to me. I continue to grow technically and build my\ncareer within this team.\n\n(https://app.accessnewswire.com/imagelibrary/e91a98f3-1282-4804-af3a-7bdae6cad7aa/1236298/a33eb0f7-306d-40ed-8afc-cec30c19795a.png)\n\nWhat were the first steps you took to start learning technical skills, and how\ndid you stay committed during the early stages?\n\nMy first real steps in developing my technical skills happened in my role as a\nWPAS Chat Guide. Every day, I communicated with GoDaddy customers and helped\nthem resolve technical issues related to WordPress websites, hosting, and\ndomains.\n\nThe beginning was very intense, but equally exciting, because every day\nbrought a new experience and a new challenge to overcome. I was constantly\nlearning something new, meeting new people, and encountering new problems that\nrequired me to think and find solutions.\n\nThat constant variety gave me the motivation and desire to keep learning every\nday. Since working in a chat position requires you to react quickly and solve\nproblems within a short period of time, I often spent time after work\nexpanding my knowledge about the questions and issues I had encountered during\nthe day. My goal was to be more knowledgeable, more capable, and faster at\nfinding solutions for customers the following day.\n\nMy previous profession and work experience also became valuable assets. As a\nlawyer, I had developed strong communication skills, and I found it relatively\neasy to build a connection with customers. I was able to use those skills to\nde-escalate many challenging situations and earn customers' trust in the\nprocess needed to resolve their questions or problems.\n\nAll of this significantly helped me when I moved into my WordPress Developer\nrole within the WordPress Premium Support team. This position allowed me to\ndedicate even more attention to customers and dive deeper into many technical\nquestions and problems that I could not fully explore in a chat-based role.\n\nHow did the culture within your team help you feel confident as you grew?\n\nWhen I moved into the WordPress Developer role, I received tremendous support\nfrom my team and more experienced colleagues. Whenever I encountered something\nI did not understand or had a question, I knew I could reach out to someone\nfor help.\n\nThe team's support gave me the encouragement I needed to feel comfortable in\nmy new role and grow more confident in handling my everyday responsibilities.\n\nI will soon have been part of this team for three years, and I can honestly\nsay that this support has never been missing - whether it comes from my\ncolleagues or my managers.\n\nBeing a WordPress Developer means that there is always something new to learn\nand that learning never really stops. WordPress is a huge ecosystem that is\nconstantly being improved, developed, and expanded. Because of that, having a\nteam that is willing to share knowledge, answer questions, and support your\ngrowth makes a huge difference. It has helped me feel confident while\ncontinuing to learn and develop both technically and professionally.\n\n(https://app.accessnewswire.com/imagelibrary/4e52ac5e-9c69-473f-88bc-971564eefc4b/1236298/e9150a2b-11c6-4320-afa5-57746673d7ea.png)\n\nHow does experimentation play a role in your development work?\n\nAs a WordPress Developer, my work requires a lot of attention to detail,\nanalysis, testing, and experimentation in order to achieve the desired result\nand meet customer expectations.\n\nExperimentation plays a particularly important role when dealing with more\nadvanced technical problems. Without experimenting and testing different\napproaches, it can be difficult to know whether a recommended solution will\nactually be effective.\n\nSometimes, experimentation also gives me the opportunity to identify several\npossible scenarios or solutions that I can present to the customer. This can\nbe particularly valuable because it gives the customer a choice and allows\nthem to select the solution that best fits their business and their goals.\n\nThat is one of the things that makes this position so interesting and\nrewarding. At the end of the day, there is a great sense of satisfaction in\nknowing that you have helped someone find the solution they needed so they can\ncontinue developing and growing their business.\n\nWhat advice would you give to someone considering a career change into tech?\n\nMy advice to anyone considering a career change and thinking about moving into\nthe tech industry would be: give it a try. If you have the desire to learn\nand, somewhere along the way, you discover that you also develop a passion for\nyour new profession, then you have very little to lose and a lot to gain.\n\nIt is absolutely never too late to change your career and do something that\nmakes you feel better and that you genuinely enjoy.\n\nThe tech industry offers such a wide range of different career paths that I\nbelieve many people who have the motivation and willingness to learn can find\nsomething that suits their personality, preferences, and existing skills. You\ndo not necessarily have to start from zero either - many of the skills and\nexperiences you have gained in your previous career can become valuable in a\ncompletely new field.\n\n(https://app.accessnewswire.com/imagelibrary/0770c517-3ec1-403f-a51b-3a9d63509741/1236298/3d46d7b9-7ee7-4cf0-ad2e-bd9a06962212.png)\n\nWhat's your motto or personal mantra?\n\nMy personal motto is: \"I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my\nsoul.\"\n\nI adopted this line from Invictus, the poem written by English poet William\nErnest Henley. This sentence completely describes my personality and\ncharacter, and it has always guided me through life and the decisions I make,\nboth professionally and personally.\n\nExternal circumstances, fears, and hardships can never break the strength of\nour will and desire.
